Chemical in Firefighter Turnout Gear Eyed As Potential Cancer Agent

Firefighters across the country may be facing an increased risk to cancer, with potentially carcinogenic compounds used in firefighting gear and their uniforms. Recently a test was conducted a nuclear chemist at the University of Notre Dame that shows that certain chemicals used have shown an increased risk to firefighters including prostate cancer.
